15th March – Coffee and Conversation (weekly by the therapy team)

18th March – Luck of the Irish for Saint Patrick’s Day

19th March – Hymn Singing

20th March – Sunshine Singers

21st March – Music Group (new, fortnightly), also Club Sandwich (new, residents in rehab preparing their own sandwiches for tea)

22nd March – Coffee and Conversation

26th March – Wheelchair and seated Exercise and Dance

27th March – Men’s Club

1st April – Mother’s Day Luncheon

 

Our Activities in Pictures

Residents from all units were invited to a  tea party. The event was called DigniTEA and was organised during the Dignity in Care Month at Askham. Residents shared stories and memories and showed what Dignity means to them.

On Burns Day, residents prepared some Scottish food (smoked salmon, cream cheese, cucumber on Scottish oatcakes). They had a quiz all about Scotland and also had to pick from pictures of celebrities which ones were Scottish. The winning team was The Tartan Army.

Women’s rights celebrated at Askham by residents and staff

Some of the funds we raised at the fayres we did were used to bring some stock for the Askham trolley. Staff is supplying free crosswords and word searches, and a free book and magazine library service. This activity is enjoyed by staff and residents.
