Recognising International Nurses Day at Askham
International Nurses Day provided an important opportunity to recognise the contribution nurses make not only through clinical expertise, but also through leadership, reassurance and day-to-day support for residents, patients and families.
At Askham, nurses work closely with multidisciplinary teams to help maintain high standards of care while supporting people with dignity, compassion and professionalism throughout every stage of their journey.
This year, residents across Askham have also been preparing handmade cards, thoughtful messages and small gifts for nursing teams as a heartfelt gesture of appreciation for the care and kindness they provide throughout the year.
Positive improvements across quality and governance measures
The work of Askham’s nursing teams has played an important role in supporting improvements across several key quality and governance measures over the past year.
This includes positive outcomes across:
- PAMMS assessments
- SRG mock inspections
- ICB oversight processes
- Internal quality monitoring metrics
These improvements reflect the ongoing focus on clinical governance, consistency, accountability and continuous improvement across Askham’s homes and services.
Alongside this, strengthened oversight of training compliance, policies and clinical practices has helped support greater consistency across teams and services.
Supporting stability, retention and stronger teams
The continued progress seen across Askham’s services reflects not only strong clinical standards, but also the dedication, leadership and compassion shown by nursing teams every day. From supporting residents and patients to strengthening team environments and maintaining consistency across services, nurses continue to play an essential role in shaping positive experiences throughout the organisation.
Reflecting on International Nurses Day, Mavrick Leveille, Associate Director of Operations and Quality shared:
“International Nurses Day is an opportunity to recognise the incredible contribution our nurses make each day. Their clinical expertise, leadership and compassionate approach continue to make a meaningful difference across Askham. We are extremely proud of the professionalism, resilience and dedication shown by our nursing teams, and grateful for the positive impact they have on the lives of so many residents, patients and families.”
At Askham, nursing is about far more than clinical care alone. It is about building trust, creating stability and supporting people with dignity and compassion through every stage of their journey.
Thank you to our nursing teams
This International Nurses Day, we would like to thank all nurses across Askham Village Community for their continued commitment, professionalism and care.
