Recognition across Askham Village Community

Two of this year’s finalist nominations recognise Askham Village Community as an organisation, with Askham named in both The Care Employer Award and The Three Rs’ Award.

The recognition reflects Askham’s continued focus on supporting and developing its people, creating opportunities for colleagues to learn and progress, and building a positive workplace culture that supports the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care.

The Askham House team is also a regional finalist for The Care Team Award, recognising the collective contribution of colleagues working together to support residents and families across the service.

Specialist rehabilitation and person-centred practice recognised

Recognition also extends to Askham Rehab, the specialist rehabilitation service within Askham Village Community.

The Askham Rehab Lower Limb Rehabilitation Partnership is a finalist for The Outstanding Contribution to Social Care Award. The partnership brings together Askham Rehab, Proactive Prosthetics & Orthotics and Beth Cordrey OT to provide coordinated rehabilitation for people living with limb loss and complex lower limb conditions.

Beth Miller, Lead Occupational Therapist at Askham Rehab, has also been named a finalist for The Putting People First Award, recognising her person-centred approach to supporting individuals to work towards meaningful goals, greater independence and life beyond rehabilitation.

Together, the seven nominations recognise different areas of work across Askham while highlighting the people and teams contributing to care, rehabilitation and the experiences of those supported by the organisation.

Looking ahead to the Great British Care Awards 2026

With recognition extending across the wider organisation, teams and individual colleagues, Mavrick Leveille, Associate Director of Operations and Quality, described the seven finalist nominations as an achievement everyone at Askham can be proud of:

“To be recognised across seven categories is an incredibly proud achievement for Askham. It is fantastic to see so many different areas of our work represented, from the organisation as a whole and our teams to individual colleagues and specialist rehabilitation.

“Each nomination reflects the dedication and professionalism that our colleagues bring to their roles every day. Congratulations to all our finalists; we are incredibly proud of them and wish them every success as they move forward to the interview stage.”
