In late August, Askham Village Community welcomed representatives from the Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Integrated Care System (ICS), the local Integrated Care Board (ICB). This visit highlighted the importance of collaboration in healthcare, as the ICB works with local partners to integrate services, improve health outcomes, and reduce inequalities. Through meaningful engagement with our residents and staff, the ICB’s positive feedback underscored our shared commitment to connected care and community wellbeing.

A positive and insightful visit

During their time at Askham Village Community, the representatives from the Cambridgeshire & Peterborough ICS engaged directly with our residents and staff. They explored the personalised care and nurturing environment that we offer, gaining valuable insights into how we work to improve the wellbeing of those in our care. We were delighted to receive positive feedback, which highlighted our shared commitment to enhancing health outcomes and quality of life for our residents.

Thank you to our team and the Cambridgeshire & Peterborough ICS

We want to extend our sincere thanks to the Cambridgeshire & Peterborough ICS for their ongoing efforts in enhancing health and care services. Visits like these are a reminder of the importance of collaboration and shared vision. We are also grateful to our dedicated team at Askham, whose hard work and commitment make all the difference every day.

What are Integrated Care Systems (ICSs) and ICBs?

Integrated Care Systems (ICSs) have been set up across England to unite partners from the NHS, local councils, the voluntary sector, and social care providers. Their aim is to develop shared plans and provide services that focus on prevention, better health outcomes, and reducing health inequalities. Each ICS is managed by an Integrated Care Board (ICB), responsible for planning health services, managing budgets, and ensuring that healthcare is delivered efficiently across their region.

The Cambridgeshire & Peterborough ICS is committed to making a significant positive impact on the lives of local people by addressing key health issues and providing care as close to people’s homes as possible. By working together with local partners, they strive to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to live a healthy and happy life.

Looking forward

As we continue to work closely with the Cambridgeshire & Peterborough ICS and other local partners, we are optimistic about the future of integrated care. Together, we are building a system that prioritises prevention, promotes wellbeing, and ensures that everyone receives the care they deserve.
