At Askham Village Community, we’re passionate about bringing people together and back in February, our community bingo night in Chatteris was a perfect example. Held on 28th February at The Sportsman pub, the event welcomed around 90 guests and raised over £900 for local causes, including a £200 donation to Little Miracles Fenland, a local charity that supports families of children with additional needs, disabilities, and life-limiting conditions.

Supporting local charities through community events

Thanks to the incredible support of local businesses in Chatteris, March, and Doddington, we were able to offer exciting prizes and create a truly memorable evening. Special thanks go to:

  • Skylark Garden Centre

  • Village Cakery

  • March Quality Meats

  • Joe Perry’s Snooker and Pool Palace

  • Nana’s Tearoom

  • Doddington Fish Bar

  • Café 42

  • Doddington’s Farm Shop

Their generous donations made the night extra special for our attendees.

A night of hospitality and community spirit

We’re extremely grateful to The Sportsman Chatteris for providing the perfect venue and to Kapsalon Kebabs for supplying a delicious feast that fuelled the evening. With their help, our bingo night became more than a fundraiser — it became a celebration of community spirit.

Meeting Little Miracles Fenland

In April, we welcomed a representative from Little Miracles Fenland to Askham Village Community. After a tour of our grounds, we had the chance to hear about the incredible work they do, from offering support and advice to creating safe spaces for families. It was a reminder of the real impact that local fundraising events can have.

 A lasting commitment to community

As part of our ethos at Askham Village Community, we’re proud to support local charities and build strong relationships with community partners. We’re already looking forward to planning more community fundraising events in the future and continuing our mission of care and connection.

At Askham Village Community, we’re always welcoming new staff into our growing community. For further information, please contact 01354 740269 or visit our website.
