Askham Village Community is celebrating national recognition following a successful evening at the Housing with Care Awards 2026, where the organisation was shortlisted across five award categories and Kelly Hayes was named winner of The Care Home Activity Organiser Award.

Kelly Hayes wins The Care Home Activity Organiser Award
The evening’s standout moment came when Kelly Hayes was announced as winner of The Care Home Activity Organiser Award.
The award recognises individuals who create meaningful, engaging and inclusive opportunities that enhance residents’ wellbeing and quality of life.
Throughout her time at Askham, Kelly has led a wide range of activities, events and community initiatives designed to encourage participation, strengthen social connections and create memorable experiences for residents and their families.
Reflecting on receiving the award, Kelly Hayes said:
“I feel incredibly proud and honoured to receive this award. Seeing residents enjoy themselves, try new experiences and spend time doing the things they love is what makes this role so rewarding. This recognition means a great deal to me and I would like to thank the residents, families and colleagues who support our activities throughout the year.”
