At our care home in Cambridgeshire, we are really proud to be able to celebrate the many cultures present in our team.
This week we had the opportunity to showcase our inclusive spirit by having an annual event in which we invited our team members to promote their cultures.

Travelling from Thailand to France
During our annual celebration of cultural differences this year, we invited our team members to participate by contributing with some of their national dishes, outfits and arts along with fun facts about different countries and cultures from around the globe. Everyone present had the chance to travel from Thailand to France via Hawaii, Bulgaria, Italy, India and many more.
The event was enjoyed widely by all team members, residents and even some members of the public who happened to be relaxing with coffee and cake in the Askham Café.
Supporting individuals around the world to develop their careers
Reflecting on the opportunity to celebrate diversity across Askham, Mavrick Feast, our Operations Manager, said: “We are proud to be able to support individuals from around the world to develop their career in care, nursing or rehabilitation.
We are lucky to enjoy the diversity this brings to our workforce as we learn from each other and celebrate the best of all cultures. The Cultural Day is a wonderful opportunity also for our residents to experience a bit of all the places our staff call home whether that’s the Philippines, Bulgaria, Thailand, India or anywhere in between.”
Inclusivity as part of our ethos
Askham is proud to be a sponsor for overseas works and to share and embrace a multitude of different beliefs and cultures. Our ethos which emphasises inclusivity of community and respect is echoed in our practice and projected into how everyone is celebrated.
Over the coming year our care home in Doddington of Cambridgeshire has plans of how to continue to celebrate our team, residents and the local community.
